James writes, " The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much." (Jms. 5:16)
If there was ever a time for the church to have "fervent prayer" it's today! The Apostle Paul says, " that in the last days perilous times shall come." (2 Tim 3:1)
It seems like we hear about one calamity after another, Record-breaking floods, Devastating fires that are wiping out entire towns, Hurricanes, Tornados, Earthquakes. And to top it all off we have the rapid, moral decline of our society… And many are growing faint in the midst of these trials…
I've heard many say, "prayer is powerful" and that all seems to sound good, but there are many religions out there who spend countless hours in prayer... You see its not really the prayer that is powerful, but the One to whom we pray... that is our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
So, today let us "fervently pray" to God with faith that rests solely in Him! "Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us!" (Eph. 3:20)
